The short version
Batt Bar does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything the app records stays on your Mac.
What the app reads
To show your battery status, Batt Bar reads battery and power information from macOS on your own Mac: charge level, charging state, power adapter details, battery health and cycle count, temperature, live power in watts, Low Power Mode status, the system charge limit, and (if connected) the battery level of Apple Magic accessories.
What the app stores, and where
- Battery history (the 24-hour chart and daily/monthly summaries) is stored in the app's own sandbox container on your Mac.
- Settings and alert rules are stored in the app's preferences on your Mac.
- Widget data is shared between the app and its widget through an App Group on your Mac only.
You can delete all of this at any time by removing the app. Deleting Batt Bar removes its container.
What the app does not do
- It does not use the network. The app is sandboxed without network access, and it contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or third-party SDKs.
- It does not track you and does not use your data for advertising.
- It does not create an account and does not ask for your name, email or any identifier.
- It does not read your files, contacts, location or other apps' data.
Notifications and launch at login
Battery alerts use local macOS notifications that are generated on your Mac; you choose whether to allow them. Launch at login is off by default and only turned on if you switch it on.
Children
Batt Bar collects no data from anyone, including children.
